Lemonade Serenade is one of the most delightful and beautifully illustrated picture books I have encountered. The story and pictures are by Don Madden. It is about a lady named Miss Twig who has a beautiful garden, and her friend, a boy named Woodrow W. Worthington, who visits every afternoon for cookies and lemonade. But one day something scary happens that disturbs the peace of the garden! The pictures are so fun and expressive, some in color and some in black & white. Children will love exploring all the things going on in them. The story is perfect for story time! This is a nice hardcover. No dust jacket, but the front and back covers are illustrated.
